What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative Medicine is the most exciting and newest area of human health and aesthetic spa treatments. Breakthroughs in medical technology have given us the ability to harnesses the restorative and healing powers within the human body.

Regenerative medicine therapies such as PRP and amnion-derived Stem Cell fluid therapies are exploding in popularity, showing incredible capabilities for treating chronic and life-threatening illnesses and restoring age-damaged tissues. For soft-tissue repair treatments like skin rejuvenation and anti-aging therapies, regenerative medicine is cutting-edge.

What is AxoBioFluid and Amnion-derived fluid Therapy?

Amnion-derived fluid therapy is a mouthful of a phrase, but the treatment itself is simple, elegant and effective for anti-aging and restorative therapies. Developed by the industry leaders in regenerative medicine, Axolotl Biologix, AxoBioFluid is a premium quality amnion-derived fluid.

AxoBioFluid is available for skin rejuvenation, hair rejuvenation, and essentially any treatment PRP therapies may be indicated for.

Although they have similar applications, AxoBioFluid is not the same as PRP. AxoBiofuid is a high-end serum that offers higher concentrations of beneficial growth factors compared to PRP and may be indicated for more specific concerns. AxoBioFluid is a high-end regenerative serum.

AxoBioFluid is simple to administer, non-surgical and requires minimal recovery time.

What is PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy?

Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP therapy is a more commonly known therapy for regenerative medicine. PRP involves taking a blood sample from the patient and purifying it on-site to create an enriched serum for use in treatments such as skin rejuvenation and hair rejuvenation treatments.

PRP serums are taken from the patient’s own blood supply, which eliminates any chance of allergic reaction.

When your blood sample is processed through a specialized device called a centrifuge, the sample separates into three layers; plasma, hematocrit and the “buffy coat.” The Buffy coat is a pure concentration of white blood cells and platelets that is processed again through the centrifuge to create a purified concentration of PRP.

Benefits and Applications

AxoBioFluid and PRP treatments are ideal for use in facial and hair rejuvenation approaches. AxoBioFluid and PRP may be used in conjunction with treatments such as microneedling and neografting or may be performed as its own treatment.

How do PRP and AxoBioFluid work?

body-liftAlthough PRP and AxoBioFluid are similar in their manner of usage, they are each unique.

The science of AxoBioFluid is one of the most advanced and exciting areas of anti-aging treatment. AxoBioFluid is a serum derived from the amnion fluid of the placenta. A large body of scientific evidence highlights the soft tissue repair, replacement and reconstruction characteristics of this amnion derived fluid.

AxoBioFluid is a “human allograft fluid” which is rich with human mesenchymal stromal cells and amnion epithelial cells. These types of cells are special due to their “pluripotent” characteristics, which means these cells are capable of generating a variety of different types of cells.

AxoBioFluid is also rich with essential growth factors such as:
EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor)
VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor)
TGF-β (Transforming growth factor Beta)

Each of these essential growth factors is important for tissue development and growth and effective for addressing tissue degeneration. AxoBioFluid is also immune-privileged, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, pro-vascular and cytoprotective since these cells are sourced from amniotic fluids. The growth factors function as signaling agents that trigger cells in a treated area to repair damaged tissue and regenerate fresh tissues.

Amniotic derived fluid such as AxoBioFluid is also rich in hyaluronic acid, anti-inflammatory proteins, and supportive proteins. These proteins and cytokines are in extremely high concentration and in pure form compared to PRP fluids.

The restorative and repair capabilities of AxoBioFluid is much more pronounced compared to PRP.

PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma

PRP treatments are more popular and recommended for skin rejuvenation, microneedling and hair restoration treatments.

PRP serums are created through autologous blood samples, meaning a blood sample is taken from the patient and processed utilizing a centrifuge for extracting the patient’s Platelets. It is the patient’s own Platelets that supply the growth and healing factors necessary for the regenerative process. Using one’s own blood sample is ideal because it eliminates the potential for an allergic reaction. You essentially harness the power of your own body’s built-in healing capabilities.

Growth factors are used by the body regularly in musculoskeletal repair applications.

PRP serums also contain high concentrations of growth factors such as PDGF, VEGF, EGF, and TGF-β1. One of the main limitations with PRP, in fact, when compared to amnion-derived fluids, is the high variability in these growth factor concentrations. Older patients who choose PRP treatments tend to yield PRP serums with lighter concentrations of essential growth factors, which can translate to limited PRP potency. Amnion-derived fluids are derived from vetted donors and are a conditioned fluid for optimal, consistent potency. The blood draw processing phase of PRP treatments is performed on-site on the day of treatment.

When compared to amnion-derived fluid treatments, PRP treatments and use of PRPs as complementary applications to microneedling and hair rejuvenation approaches can deliver great results, but amnion-derived fluid treatments produce profound benefits more consistently.

Treatment

The procedure for amnion-derived fluid treatments requires a simple injection process. AxoBioFluid is cryopreserved and pre-prepared before the session. On the day of treatment, the area will be cleaned and prepped depending on the goal of treatment. Treatments may be performed via injection or topical application in conjunction with procedures such as microneedling or hair rejuvenation.

The in-chair treatment time can be as little as half an hour.

Complimentary Treatments

PRP and amniotic-derived therapies pair well with other therapies such as microneedling and hair restoration.

Microneedling Combined with Amniotic-Derived Fluid Therapy

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, creates small channels in the skin to trigger your body’s healing response. Paired with PRP or AxoBioFluid application, this treatment’s results are enhanced for profound, long-term rejuvenation.

Hair Restoration Approaches Combined with Amniotic-Derived Fluid Therapy

When hair restoration approaches are paired with growth factor applications, previously inert or damaged hair follicles can be revitalized. This approach is ideal for individuals experiencing early stages of hair loss or androgenic alopecia.

Results

With this treatment, you will achieve noticeably brighter and tighter skin.

The results of amniotic-derived therapies will not be instantaneous. Once injected, the concentrated growth factors will trigger local tissue regeneration and restoration, which will continue in the weeks following treatment.

Although great results can be achieved with a single session, multiple applications may be recommended to achieve your best results.
