Causes of Hair Loss

In women, there can be many different agents to hair loss. It is important to understand which ones may be affecting you so that the proper course of action can be taken before your NeoGraft treatment. Androgenetic Alopecia

While many women experience hair loss later in life, this can occur at any age – one of the leading causes being androgenetic alopecia which is hair loss passed on through genetics. Stress Induced

Personal Consultation

During your personal consultation with Dr. Wolin at our Scottsdale office, he will go over your medical, surgical, and prescription history. Next, he will note any hair loss treatments you have tried in the past and ask you to rate their efficacy. Then, he will examine your head, focusing on the follicular health of the follicles in the donor areas. It is crucial these hairs are healthy and suitable to be transplanted onto another part of your head. If NeoGraft is elected as your right course of action a time and date will be scheduled for your treatment. A list of preparatory steps will be given to you to be taken in the interim between your consultation and the date of your procedure.

Procedure

Being that NeoGraft is a comparatively simple procedure when related to other, more invasive cosmetic procedures, your NeoGraft treatment will take place in our offices. Here you will be helped to feel relaxed and comfortable. After local anesthesia is administered around your head, we will use the NeoGraft machine to extract 1-4 strands of hair at a time. The machine will then sow the strands of hair into the bald spots around your head. Depending on the size of your treated areas, a NeoGraft hair restoration treatment can take 4-8 hours to complete.

Recovery

When you leave our office after your session, it is important not to cover the treated area with a hat or anything that would rest on your head. There may be minimal bleeding, swelling, and redness. All this is completely normal. You can return to work the next day, but it is important to avoid non-strenuous activities for the next two weeks. During this time continue to avoid hats, beanies, and hoods. While you sleep, keep your head flat and elevated. This will assure optimal healing during the night.

Results

2-4 Weeks After

2-4 weeks after your NeoGraft treatment the implanted hairs will fall out. This is normal in the healing process. It shows that the new follicles have taken root and are growing, pushing the old hair out of their hibernation.

8-12 Months After
